The decorators Eva Maraver and Laura Granado spoke with the magazine AD España, leaving some tips capable of "doing miracles" in any type of home. Luxury is (really) the organization of space

Interior decoration experts consider luxury to be space, and that everything revolves around its distribution. As a rule, whenever there are very small divisions, experts recommend, if possible, eliminating one and transforming it into a larger division. Another option that allows you to "gain volume" is to use high ceilings.

To create a special atmosphere, the experts bet on choosing a palette of light and medium tones, which then require “playing” with the textures and some elements that provide sophistication. If there are no funds for this, they recommend the use of a sophisticated wallpaper or a screen printing.

"The creation of highly contrasting shadows and light effects results in very sophisticated lighting," says Maraver. To enhance this effect, experts recommend looking for a ceiling lamp or opting for a simple and inexpensive lamp base, but with a personalized lampshade.

A touch of wood

As for the furniture, the ideal, according to the decorators, is to choose them with natural finishes and mix them with lacquered auxiliary furniture. In that case, it must be ensured that they are of high quality and elegant colors.

Second hand furniture can also be an option. For example, we can use an old wooden base and place a marble or stone top on it, or recover a glass top and place a brass or bronze base.

Yes to antiques!

"When the budget is low and we cannot change all the furniture, we can find small pieces to achieve the effect we are looking for", says Maraver. In such cases, it advises to choose ceramic pieces or invest in the work of emerging artists.

Cozy bookshelves

“Line all the walls of a dining room with bookshelves that go from floor to ceiling and can even be from Ikea, say the decorators. The professional touch can go through varnishing them "with a sophisticated color".

Bet on natural linen or silk, with bronze or metal bars.
