RFM Somnii aims to "revolutionize" Local and regional tourism

The "City Festival" is a street programming initiative with stages in RFM Somnii Square, on the corner of Casino Figueira, on the staircase of Building Portugal, next to the Clock Tower, Terrace Silva Guimarães, in Afonso de Albuquerque square and in streets .

The free shows include performances in the areas of contemporary music, classical music, jazz and fado, but also performing arts, contemporary and urban dance with various schools involved and circus entertainment. Also, Casino Figueira and the NB nightclub are hosting late night parties. That is, this edition has seven stages, 34 artists involved and 84 performances.

 

According to some of the figueirenses politicians the event translates: "A contribution in the requalification of the local tourism" and "a revolution in the way one renders service".

 

This initiative refers not only to the direct impact of these 3 days of festival in the local economy, but also to power future returns to the city and the center region.

 

Pedro Machado, president of Tourism Center of Portugal, said that he was in the presence of a "virtuous triangle" based on "the ability of Figueira da Foz to capture and hold events by promoting a very strong tourism brand"; a very important event for the Center and Portugal and that could contribute to increase the region's reputation "and, lastly," environmental and economic sustainability in the Tourism industry throughout the year. "
