The Center's Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRC) does not rule out the possibility of launching an international tender for the reconstruction of houses destroyed by the October fires, in order to make a possible lack of capacity for national construction.

The official, who spoke on the sidelines of the celebration of the first protocol of collaboration for the reconstruction of houses affected by the fires of October 15 and 16, explained that at the moment consortia are being drawn up for each of the counties in which there are many houses affected.

"In the municipality where there are already companies, what is needed is a company that coordinates the existing ones. It's easier. But a municipality where there are no construction companies, these have to be outside and there we have to make proposals "and consult at least three companies that are available to lead the consortium, explained Ana Abrunhosa.

Also this weekend, the same CCDRC responsible said that the reconstruction of the 264 houses of permanent housing destroyed by the June fire in Pedrógão Grande is expected to be completed by the middle of 2018.

"By the end of 2017, the last house will be in construction," CCDRC president Ana Abrunhosa told the Lusa news agency, admitting "the likelihood that they will all be rebuilt" and re-occupied by the owners "by the middle of next year ".

The Government's priority after June 17, in partnership with different public and private entities, was to hand over the works of the houses that "required total reconstruction," explained Ana Abrunhosa adding that "between this week and next, last housing ".

According to official surveys, of the 264 permanent homes affected by fire, 87 need total recovery and of these 59 in the county of Pedrógão Grande.

For the damages in companies caused by the fire of Pedrógão Grande, the Government approved a contribution of 85% to fund lost, with view to save about 300 jobs. And in the area of subsistence agriculture, the support of 1,053 euros for each family "solved 80% of the situations", and the agricultural companies could use the Rural Development Program 2020.
